Central WA Phase 1 restaurants can now have 25 percent indoor seating

Health officials said starting Aug. 27, 2020, restaurants in Phase 1 Central Washington counties that follow Phase 2 requirements can operate 25% indoor seating.

This loosening of restrictions impacts Chelan, Douglas, Benton, Franklin and Yakima counties that are in a modified Phase 1 per Washington’s Safe Start plan.

More hospitality details:

  • Restaurants can operate as outlined in Phase 2 guidance, with guest occupancy indoors limited to 25% of maximum building occupancy as determined by the fire code. Outdoor seating is permitted at 50% capacity.
  • Wineries, breweries, distilleries and taverns can have indoor seating at 25% of building capacity if they meet Liquor Control Board foodservice requirements.
  • Outdoor card rooms can operate with a limit of 50 people plus staff.
  • Social gatherings are only allowed outdoors with five or fewer people outside the household per week. Physical distancing of at least 6 feet must be maintained.
