City of Spokane announces moratorium on evictions and foreclosures

Mayor Nadine Woodward on March 23 announced an emergency declaration putting a moratorium on all foreclosures and evections at both residential and commercial locations.

The declarations will be in effect until April 30.

According to the Spokesman-Review, “the declaration prevents mortgage holders from taking any foreclosure action on property within the city limits.” During this moratorium, no late fees, interest or other charges from late rent payment will be charged to tenants.
