Who is enforcing the restaurant closures?

There are three main entities that have the ability to enforce the closure through different methods.

  1. The Health Department and the LCB have the ability to permanently revoke your licenses for not complying with the order.
  2. Civil Authority has the right to pursue criminal authority.

Is there a tentative reopening date?

Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee issued a proclamation on March 23 ordering all Washingtonians to stay at home except for essential tasks or duties.

This ban goes into effect after 48 hours and will last at least two weeks, with the possibility of being expanded. Under this ban, food delivery and takeout as well as hotel operations continue to be considered essential and will be allowed to continue.

All non-essential businesses must be closed during this time or else operate via telework.

Even essential businesses must implement rules that help facilitate social distancing between individuals of at least six feet. Food banks and food pantries that are essential services will remain open.
