FDA announces best practices for food establishments
The Food and Drug Administration on April 9 released new best practices for retail food stores, restaurants and food pickup/delivery services during the coronavirus pandemic to safeguard both employees and guests.
Many of these practices include the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention interim guidelines for critical infrastructure workers. It also includes best practices for food safety, social distancing and sanitation for the entire location.
Some of the topics included in these best practices are:
- Managing employee health (including contracted workers)
- Personal hygiene for employees
- Managing operations in a food service establishment or retail food store
- Managing food pickup and delivery
