New enhanced hotel-specific online training course for cleaning and safety during pandemic launched.
The American Hotel and Lodging Association (AHLA) has launched a new and enhanced online training course specifically designed for cleaning and safety during the pandemic. The new enhanced training is part of the Safe Stay COVID-19 Precautions for Hotels, a hotel-specific online training course designed specifically for cleaning and safety during the pandemic. The training was developed in partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).
In addition to the safety and cleanliness guidelines, the training includes a new module focused on de-escalation training for employees. The new de-escalation module offers all hotel employees guidance on how to reduce tensions and promote a safe environment while maintaining the spirit of hospitality throughout all interactions. Sections cover:
- Difficult situations related to COVID-19 guest requirements
- Maintaining the spirit of hospitality in difficult situations
- Actions to take to de-escalate difficult situations
