Required Families First Coronavirus Response Act employer notice must be up April 1

In late March, the U.S. Department of Labor required you put out a new posted notice for your business regarding the Family First Coronavirus Response Act, which you can find and print here. It must be posted as of April 1, 2020. 

This notice must be posted in a visible location on your premises, the department stated in an accompanying FAQ. Other guidance detailed in that FAQ includes: 

  • You must email or direct mail this notice to your employees in addition to posting it physically at your business. Otherwise, you will need to post it on a website and direct employees to that posting. 
  • You are not required to provide this poster in multiple languages.  
  • This applies only to current employees. 
  • If you hire a new job applicant, you must convey this notice to them, either by email, direct mail or a physical posting. 
  • All covered employers must post this regardless of whether your state has greater protections. You must comply with both federal and state laws. This applies to small business owners as well. 
  • Updates and changes to these requirements will be posted at this website.  
  • The notice is free to download and print.  
  • If you have employees reporting directly to work in multiple buildings, each building must have a notice posted.
