Tacoma Pierce County Health offers some extensions, refunds or waives late fees

In an effort to support restaurants and avoid adding to existing challenges in the pandemic, Tacoma Pierce County Health is adjusting some fees related to food service.  Related to food establishments, the county is offering:

• Extended due dates.
  • All facilities will have an extra 30 days to pay for permits.
  • If your facility is facing financial hardship due to temporary closures, limits to seating or other effects of COVID-19, you may request an additional 90 days.
• Waives late fees.
  • Facilities temporarily closed due to the pandemic can request a late-fee waiver until they re-open.
• Refunds.
  • Facilities closed for six or more consecutive months in 2020 due to COVID-19 may be eligible for a partial refund.
