< All Topics

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced it is accepting applications for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant on April 8, 2021.

The grant program, which includes $15 billion in grants to shuttered venues and other affected businesses, was established by the Economic Aid to Hard-Hit Small Businesses, Nonprofits, and Venues Act, which was signed into law last December. The administration has launched a portal to begin accepting applications on April 8, and has frequently asked questions and video tutorials on the grant’s dedicated page.

Who is eligible for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grants?

Eligible applicants may qualify for the grants equal to 45% of their gross earned revenue, with the maximum amount of $10 million.

Eligible entities include:

  • Theatrical producers
  • Live performing arts organization operators
  • Relevant museum operators, zoos and aquariums that meet specific criteria
  • Motion picture theater operators
